Answer
My furnace uses a lot of wood. What should I do ?
1- The thermostat that controls the intake vents is trying to increase the heat and is probably placed to closed to a source of cold air.
2-The air intake is not adjusted correctly.
3-The house is possibly poorly insulated.
4-The ash drawer is not closed correctly.
5-The furnace is too small for the area to be heat.
6-There is inadequate balance of the ventilation system.
7-It is too cool where the thermostat is located.
Relocate the thermostat. Adjust the chains linking the air intake valves to the servo-motor. Rebalance the ventilation system so that there is more output in the room where the thermostat is located.
